A key component of any successful Open Source Project is providing transparency around product plans so the Community is able to follow the project and becomes an integral part of the development process. At Oro, we view the Community as an extension of our internal team, and together we will deliver a complete solution to our joint customers. In that spirit of transparency, we are pleased to share our plans for releasing OroCRM so our Community knows what to expect.
To give developers early access to the project we will make our code available on GitHub by publishing our repository and allowing developers to fork it. We will not accept contributions at this time as the API is not final, but we would love to get feedback along the way through a channel we will be enabling on our website. This should allow everyone to get an early look into our new architecture and follow our progress at a code level.
We then plan to have a public Alpha available mid this year with a Beta coming in the Fall. Our stable, Generally Available (GA), release is planned towards the end of this year.
When we decided to build OroCRM, we knew we could only build a truly disruptive CRM product with the help of an open source ecosystem. This means we want developers to extend OroCRM in ways we can’t now imagine, technology partners to integrate in meaningful ways that deliver value for their customers, and System Integrators that deliver total solutions for their customers. All of this will add up to OroCRM customers that receive an amazing product delivered in a way that provides exponential value to their business. We will deliver this together!
We will update our website as we have updates so please make sure to check our site often!
