Compress images by default

Hi there,

We are working on a project that requires the users of it upload a lot of files. As such, especially when the non-savvy of them, often we find files of absurd sizes uploaded (15mb uncompressed images).

Rather than force the uploaded files to be smaller, we have been told to compress and resize the files that are uploaded so they are no longer giant.

My question is, what is the easiest way to accomplish this?

You can write the listener which will be compress uploaded files and save it to some place.
